CRD Small Grantsm Project
CRD “Small Grants Project” aims to provide modest support in the form of seed money or one-time small grants to Chinese non-government organizations, ad hoc project committees, networks, or individuals to defend the human rights of fellow Chinese citizens and to assist victims of rights abuse. The project is devoted to supporting Chinese organizations and individuals in the PRC, though it does not exclude occasional support for overseas or joint projects that fall under its mandate.
CRD, the Network of Chinese Human Rights Defenders, is a group of Chinese human rights activists and groups, open to international supporters. Its objective is to build the capacity of those involved in defending human rights in China, to monitor the Chinese government’s adherence to its international and constitutional obligations and to aid victims of rights abuses and assist them in seeking redress. CRD encourages efforts to achieve these objectives through democratization and rule of law reform. CRD activities include consultation, dissemination of information, facilitating international exchange, supporting a program of small grants to human rights work in China, research assistance and other services.
